Subio Platform installation on Mac OS Snow Leopard

(Just to make this post more helpful)
Some Mac hardware running on Snow Leopard can be booted up with a 64 bit kernel running. When I tried to install Subio Platform with a 64 bit kernel, the installer complained that the machine is not Intel.
Word around: reboot into a 32 bit kernel, which is the default for Snow Leopard. Then the installer works like a charm. Reboot into a 64 bit kernel, and Subio will be running in 64 bit mode.
